Cooking With Kendra: Apple Tart with Peach Jelly Glaze

Ingredients:

- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

- 2–3 apples (depending on size)

- 1 tablespoon sugar


Instructions:


1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Prepare your baking sheet: Line a sheet pan with parchment paper, then place the thawed puff pastry on top.

3. Prep the apples: Wash, dry, core, and thinly slice the apples. (Peeling is optional—it's up to your preference.)

4. Assemble the tart: Arrange the apple slices on the puff pastry in a fanned or decorative pattern. Sprinkle evenly with sugar.

5. First bake: Place the tart in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.

6. Prepare the glaze: While the tart is baking, heat the peach jelly in a small saucepan over low heat or in the microwave until melted and smooth.

7. Glaze and bake again: Remove the tart from the oven, then brush the apples and pastry edges with half of the melted jelly. Return the tart to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes.

8. Final glaze and bake: Brush the tart with the remaining jelly, then bake for an additional 5 minutes.

9. Cool and serve: Allow the tart to cool to room temperature before serving.


Variations and Tips:

- Using apple pie filling: For an easier version, substitute fresh apples with Kendra's Kreations Apple Pie Filling. Simply arrange the slices neatly and follow the same baking steps—it's just as delicious!

- Jelly substitutions: If you don't have peach jelly, try other flavors. Plum jelly works well, and prickly pear jelly adds a beautiful color.
